Our hearts at TIEC are heavy as we mourn the loss of Drew Brannon, our friend and collaborator. Drew was the third generation in his family to serve as president of the Tryon Riding & Hunt Club, a unique legacy in its own right. During his presidency we collaborated with the club on the Tryon Block House Races and other equestrian events. We so appreciated his dedication and commitment to making the historic steeplechase an ongoing success. He understood, uniquely, the importance of these legacy events. Drew brought tremendous knowledge and respect for their history, and a wise and understanding perspective of both the challenge and value of ensuring these events continued far beyond the current time.
Drew’s passion was contagious, and along with his wife Tara, he always shared his talents and leadership generously. We are grateful for the contributions he made to the betterment of our community and the preservation of equestrian sport. We all will miss him. We send our best to Tara and the entire Brannon family.
