For Immediate Release
Mill Spring, NC – March 7, 2023 – Three Eventing competitions have been named to the 2023 calendar at Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (TIEC), beginning with the Tryon International Three-Day Event hosted May 10-14, 2023. The CCI competition will feature CCI 4*-L, 3*-L, 2*-L, 4*-S, 3*-S, 2*-S, 1*, and Advanced levels over the weekend, and is hosted alongside Tryon Spring 2 (USEF A/Level 4) Hunter/Jumper competition and the first “Saturday Night Lights” event of the season.
Two weeks later, Eventing will return again to the venue for the Tryon International Spring Horse Trials May 26-28, this time at the National levels and featuring the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship. The week will also feature Tryon Spring 4 (USEF AA/Level 5/CSI 2*) Hunter/Jumper competition and Saturday Night Lights.
The Fork at Tryon International is being rescheduled to September 14-17, 2023 and will welcome both Beginner Novice through Advanced national competition as well as CCI 4*-S, 2*-L and 1* levels. The decision to adjust the date was made in the interest of preserving a historic event offering high levels of competition while also increasing opportunities for competitors throughout the year.
“We are so excited to host these events in 2023 and to enjoy our beloved White Oak Cross-Country Course multiple times in May,” TIEC Director of Equestrian Operations Molly Oakman said. “We are thrilled to add international competition for our competitors in September with the reallocation of The Fork at Tryon International, and look forward to a wonderful season ahead.”
New for 2023, The USEA Future Event Horse Program is now hosted by the Young Horse Show Series, with the Young Horse Show Finals hosted at TIEC November 8-12, 2023. The Young Horse Show Series and Finals provides a safe and educational environment for future Eventing mounts to learn and grow, receive evaluation and receive exposure to potential buyers. More information about the series and finals competition is available at www.YoungHorseShow.com.
