Tryon Welcome Series Returns with Upgraded Ratings to Begin 2019 Competition Year at TIEC

Mill Spring, NC – March 1, 2019 – Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) at Tryon Resort is pleased to welcome competitors back for the venue for the 2019 Tryon Welcome Series, featuring a six-week series, and kicking off 33 weeks of competition announced thus far for 2019. Click HERE to view the 2019 Tryon Welcome Series Prize List! The Tryon Welcome Series runs Thursday, March 21, through Sunday, April 28, and will highlight hunter, jumper, and equitation competition. New to the 2019 Tryon Welcome Series calendar, Tryon Welcome 1 and Tryon Welcome 2 include upgraded USEF “A” Hunter ratings and will host Level 3 Jumper competition.

 

“We are excited to kick off the 2019 TIEC competition year with the Tryon Welcome Series featuring numerous class upgrades. We look forward to hosting competitors and their friends and families in North Carolina,” said Sharon Decker, Chief Operating Officer of Tryon Equestrian Partners.

 

Both Tryon Welcome 1 and 2 will offer USEF “A” Hunter and Level 3 Jumper competition, featuring a Friday $5,000 1.40m Welcome Stake, followed by Sunday’s $15,000 1.40m Jumper Classic, ample Developing Jumper Series opportunities, and numerous Junior/Amateur 1.10-1.40m Jumper Classics. The hunter classes will feature the $1,000 3’3″/3’6″ Amateur-Owner Classic, as well as a $1,000 3’3″/3’6″ Junior Hunter Classic. Each Sunday of Tryon Welcome 1 and 2 will highlight the Platinum Performance USEF Talent Search 2* competition hosted at TIEC throughout the series.

 

Tryon Welcome 3 hosts USEF “B” Hunter and Level 3 Jumper competition from Friday, April 5, to Sunday, April 7. Tryon Welcome 3 will offer multiple Developing Jumper Series opportunities, with a $5,000 1.40m Welcome Stake and $15,000 1.40m Jumper Classic.

Tryon Welcome 4, hosted Wednesday, April 10 through Sunday, April 14, will feature USEF “AA” Hunter and Level 4 Jumper competition, with a highlight $25,000 National Grand Prix held at 1:00pm on Sunday, a $1,000 Amateur-Owner Classic and a $1,000 Junior Hunter Classic.

 

Tryon Welcome 5 will present USEF “B” Hunter and Level 3 Jumper competition at the venue Thursday, April 18, through Saturday, April 20. Competition will continue to include Developing Jumper Series opportunities, $2,000 Jumper Classics for Children, Juniors, and Adults with heights ranging from 1.10-1.40m and the highlight $15,000 1.40m Jumper Classic.

 

Tryon Welcome 6 concludes the series with USEF “B” Hunter and Level 3 Jumper competition hosted Friday, April 26, through Sunday, April 28. The week will welcome a $5,000 1.40m Welcome Stake at 1:00 p.m. preceding Sunday’s $15,000 1.40m Jumper Classic hosted at noon.
