TIEC Announces Preliminary 2022 USEF Competition Schedule

Mill Spring, NC – December 7, 2021 – The 2022 Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (TIEC) USEF competition schedule is now available featuring 42 competitions across six disciplines over 32 weeks. The 2022 schedule builds on a strong 2021 foundation of equestrian events hosted at the 1,600-acre resort in scenic Western North Carolina with the return of the Tryon Welcome, Spring, Summer and Fall Series for Hunter/Jumper disciplines, plus the addition of indoor competition during the August Summer Series. These five series showcase 30 weeks of USEF Hunter/Jumper competition including 10 FEI Show Jumping weeks as well as five International and 12 USHJA National Hunter Derbies. The multi-discipline venue will again host multiple weeks of Driving, Eventing, and Dressage, as well as one week of Para Dressage in 2022. Vaulting will also make a reappearance since its debut at the venue during the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games.

 

Tryon Welcome Series: March 24-April 24, 2022
The Tryon Welcome Series officially launches the 2022 season from March 24 through April 24 with four weeks of A/AA/Level 3 Hunter/Jumper competition and two USHJA National Hunter Derbies. The Fork at TIEC CCI 1*, 2*L, 3*L, and 4*S and horse trials are scheduled for April 7-10, kickstarting the 2022 Eventing season. The series concludes with the Katydid CDE at Tryon, Driving competition on April 20-24 and Tryon Spring Dressage 1&2 CDI 3* on April 22-24.

Tryon Spring Series: May 4 – June 12, 2022
The Tryon Spring Series brings back the six-weeks of A&AA Hunter/Jumper series of 2021 to include one week of CSI 2* and two weeks CSI 3* competitions. On May 18-22, the WCHR competition will also return to the venue along with a USHJA International Hunter Derby and three National Hunter Derbies in the series. Tryon Spring Dressage 1&2 is slated for May 7-8, and the series concludes with the Tryon Spring 6/Tryon Riding & Hunt Club Charity Horse Show on June 7-12, a USEF-designated Heritage Competition.

Tryon Summer Series: June 17 – July 31, 2022
The championship circuit heats up in the Tryon Summer Series as TIEC hosts the 2022 National Hunter Derby Regional Championships, and the 2022 Zone Jumper Team Championships & Platinum Championships Zones 3 & 4. The USHJA Pony Hunter Derby returns with the highest level of pony competition at the venue for the year, a highlight of the annual TIEC Pony Spectacular. The summer features a total of six weeks of AA&B and Level 3-6 competition including two weeks of CSI 2*, two weeks of CSI 3*, three USHJA National Hunter Derbies and one USHJA International Hunter Derby. Tryon Summer Dressage is set for June 17-19 and will feature a Para Dressage- CPEDI 3* competition.

Tryon August Summer H/J Series: August 1-21, 2021
With the completion of TIEC’s 280,000-square-foot Indoor Complex, the venue will host an indoor series during the month of August featuring two weeks of Hunter/Jumper B/Level 3 classes to include one USHJA National Hunter Derby. Tryon Summer Dressage 3 & 4 competition will conclude the Summer on August 12-14.

Tryon Fall Series: September 17-November 13
TIEC’s longest and most robust schedule is housed in the Tryon Fall Series. The series kicks off with the Tryon Fall Horse Trials national Eventing competition alongside Tryon Fall Dressage 1 & 2 the weekend of September 16-18. The Tryon CDE Driving competition follows on September 21-25.

Eight weeks of Hunter/Jumper AA/B and Level 3-6 classes and four weeks of FEI competition with two CSI 2* and two 3* Show Jumping will populate the majority of the fall dates. Two USHJA International Hunter Derbies and four USHJA National Hunter Derbies are included, several of which will be hosted on TIEC’s new grass derby field.

Tryon Fall Dressage 3 brings us to November and ends with the coveted Tryon International Three-Day 4*L Eventing on November 9-13 in parallel with the Tryon Fall Finale H/J B rated competition to conclude the fall season.
