Mill Spring, NC – March 11, 2022 – Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (TIEC) is proud to offer $70,000 in prize money for Hunter Derbies throughout the spring, including two USHJA International Hunter Derbies, two USHJA National Hunter Derbies, and a Junior/Amateur Derby across four weeks of competition.

USHJA International Hunter Derbies:
Two USHJA International Hunter Derbies are slated for the 2022 Spring Series at TIEC, including Tryon Spring 3’s $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby as part of World Champion Hunter Rider Week (WCHR).

Tryon Spring 6/Tryon Riding & Hunt Club Charity Horse Show will showcase the $40,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, with nearly $95,000 in prize money for Hunter disciplines alone offered throughout the week.

USHJA National Hunter Derbies:
Two USHJA National Hunter Derbies are to be hosted throughout the Tryon Welcome Series in 2022, setting up for three national-level opportunities throughout the Tryon Spring Series: including Tryon Spring 2 and 5, as well as the Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby during Tryon Spring 6.

Hunter Highlights:
World Champion Hunter Rider Week will be hosted during Tryon Spring 3, including nearly $70,000 in prize money for Hunter divisions and featuring a Ringmaster, special events for Hunter/Jumpers, and more.

Tryon Spring 6/Tryon Riding & Hunt Club Charity Horse Show includes numerous special events throughout the USEF Heritage Horse Show, including the $40,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, a sponsored Trip of the Day award to the highest scoring Hunter round in any division daily, and numerous social events for competitors.

Looking Ahead:
Tryon Summer 4 is Hunter Derby heaven, with the annual Pony Spectacular allowing ponies to shine in Tryon Stadium as incredible prep for Pony Finals, and including the $10,000 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby. The week also features a $30,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, alongside a USHJA National Hunter Derby..

Tryon Welcome Series: March 24-April 24, 2022
The Tryon Welcome Series officially launches the 2022 season from March 24 through April 24 with four weeks of A/AA/Level 3 Hunter/Jumper competition and two USHJA National Hunter Derbies. Entries are now open and competitors can book stalls at www.Tryon.com/compete and reserve onsite lodging by visiting www.Tryon.com/lodging.

Tryon Spring Series: May 4-June 12, 2022
The Tryon Spring Series brings back the six-weeks of A&AA Hunter/Jumper series of 2021 to include one week of CSI 2* and two weeks of CSI 3* competitions. On May 18-22, the WCHR competition will also return to the venue along with a USHJA International Hunter Derby and three National Hunter Derbies in the series. The full prize list is now available and competitors are encouraged to book stalls and lodging early for guaranteed availability.

Tryon Summer Series: June 17-July 31, 2022
The championship circuit heats up in the Tryon Summer Series as TIEC hosts the 2022 National Hunter Derby Regional Championships, and the 2022 Zone Jumper Team Championships & Platinum Championships Zones 3 & 4. The USHJA Pony Hunter Derby returns with the highest level of pony competition at the venue for the year, a highlight of the annual TIEC Pony Spectacular. The summer features a total of six weeks of AA&B and Level 3-6 competition including two weeks of CSI 2*, two weeks of CSI 3*, three USHJA National Hunter Derbies and one USHJA International Hunter Derby.

Tryon August Summer Series: August 1-21, 2021
During the month of August, the competition schedule will feature two weeks of Hunter/Jumper B/Level 3 classes to include one USHJA National Hunter Derby.

Tryon Fall Series: September 17-November 13
TIEC’s longest and most robust schedule is housed in the Tryon Fall Series. Eight weeks of Hunter/Jumper AA/B and Level 3-6 classes and four weeks of FEI competition with two CSI 2* and two 3* Show Jumping will populate the majority of the fall dates. Two USHJA International Hunter Derbies and four USHJA National Hunter Derbies are included, several of which will be hosted on TIEC’s new grass derby field.
