2019 Tryon Fall Series Kicks Off Six Weeks of Competition September 20 at TIEC

Mill Spring, NC – September 2, 2019 – The full prize list for the 2019 Tryon Fall Series is available at Tryon.com, and the series features six weeks of Hunter, Jumper, and Equitation competition including Regional and Premier ratings alongside four consecutive weeks of FEI competition at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) at Tryon Resort. Hosted September 20 through October 27, each week features a Regional or American Standard Grand Prix, while the series will also highlight the Carolinas Challenge Cup Series Final, the Spy Coast Farm Developing Jumper Series and Developing Jumper Series Finals, and a $20,000 Open Hunter Classic.

Each Saturday evening of the Tryon Fall Series, the venue’s signature “Saturday Night Lights” series will feature top Grand Prix show jumping competition under the lights in Tryon Stadium with free family entertainment and live music. Carousel and pony rides, face painting, and an array of live entertainment begin at 5pm before competition heats up at 7pm. Onsite dining at multiple restaurants is available alongside concessions stands and bars.

 

The series begins with two weeks of national competition in September, offering Hunter, Jumper and Equitation competition at the Regional 1 and Premier levels. Tryon Fall 1 (September 19-22) features a $5,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake and $25,000 Tryon Resort Grand Prix in addition to a $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby. Tryon Fall 2, hosted September 24-29, features a $5,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake ahead of the $25,000 Carolina Arena Equipment Grand Prix.

Tryon Fall 3 (October 2-6) sees the first week of CSI competition with the $5,000 1.40m Power & Speed Stake CSI 2*, $36,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake CSI 2*, $5,000 1.45m Speed Stake CSI 2*, and the $72,000 Adequan® Grand Prix CSI 2*. In addition to FEI competition, Tryon Stadium will also welcome a $25,000 American Standard Grand Prix. The week will highlight a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby alongside extensive Children’s, Junior, and Amateur/Owner Jumper and Hunter Classics.

 

Featuring the Carolinas Challenge Cup Series Final in Tryon Stadium, Tryon Fall 4 welcomes CSI 3* competition October 8-13 including: the $5,000 1.40m Power & Speed Stake CSI 3*, $36,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake CSI 3*, $5,000 1.45m Speed Stake CSI 3*, and the $134,000 Gary Sinise Foundation Jump for our Heroes Grand Prix CSI 3* presented by Lowe’s. National competition highlights include Sunday’s $30,000 American Standard Grand Prix, the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, and a $5,000 USHJA National Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby alongside extensive Children’s, Junior, and Amateur/Owner Jumper and Hunter Classics.

Tryon Fall 5, the most competitive week of the Tryon Fall Series, will host a $20,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, the 2019 Spy Coast Farm Developing Jumper Series Final, and the highly-anticipated $384,000 Grand Prix CSI 5*. Jumper competition will also include the $36,000 1.45m Power & Speed CSI 5*, $132,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake CSI 5*, $36,000 1.45m Speed Stake CSI 5*, and a $72,000 1.50m Sunday Classic CSI 5*.

 

Tryon Fall 6 includes CSI 2* competition, with a $20,000 Open Hunter Classic crowning the Hunter divisions. Jumper highlight classes include the $5,000 1.40m Power & Speed CSI 2*, $36,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake CSI 2*, $5,000 1.40m Speed Stake, $72,000 Lugano Diamonds Grand Prix CSI 2*, and a $25,000 American Standard Grand Prix.

Alongside the Tryon Fall Series, is the return of the very popular American Hobby Horse Series. The American Hobby Horse Fall Series will run concurrently to the October “Saturday Night Lights” schedule, with free competition for kids under the age of 14.

 

October is also “Paint TIEC Orange” month to benefit Brooke USA, with special opportunities to benefit the charity organization throughout the month and during Tryon Fall 6. From celebrity bartenders to a Halloween contest and orange-themed stall decorating contest, to a kids’ scavenger hunt and concert dinner benefitting Brooke USA, Tryon Fall 6 will be a festive and charitable week at TIEC.
