Live Painting with Equestrian Artist Julie Ferris
Adding to the evening, guests can watch equestrian artist Julie Ferris at work during a special live painting experience overlooking the Hunter Derby action.
Ferris is an American equestrian artist whose work centers on the horse through portraiture and contemporary equestrian art. Working primarily in oil, she combines technical precision with a painterly approach informed by her own experience as a rider and horse owner.
Since establishing her professional practice in 2012, Ferris has exhibited throughout Atlanta and the Southeast and created commissioned works for private collectors. Her broader studio practice explores the horse through still life, abstraction, sculpture and other forms, continually finding new ways to interpret the equestrian subject.
